7. Your client. (Safety and indemnity.)
G.S.S. & V. recommends that where you are not the owner/operator of the venue (i.e. bands, agents, etc.) that you put the following points in your booking agreement.
"Safety policy for bookings with (your name)“
The stage environment has hazards which include,
- Obstacles on the stage floor and overhead - Low lighting and high noise levels - Hot lights and occasionally theatrical smoke - Performers, crew, etc.
You (your client) assume all responsibility for, and indemnifies (your name), it's employees, crew, and contractors from liability for personal injury and property damage to you, your guests, patrons or venue staff arising from the following,
1. Falling, tripping or physical impact with production equipment, crew or performers on the stage. 2. Any damage to clothing, property, video and photographic equipment while on the stage. 3. Any injury or damage as a consequence of impact from production equipment due excessive impact force from client, guests, patrons or venue staff from: a. Out of control dancing by clients, guests or patrons. b. Irresponsible or careless behaviour by clients, guests, patrons or venue staff. c. Aggressive behaviour by clients, guests or patrons.
The client and their guests must not adjust or interfere with production equipment. The client also agrees to authorise (your name) and its crew to politely escort unauthorised or intoxicated people from the stage area if necessary. Security or venue management may be called if this fails.
The client and/or venue management must assess the stage area for safety. Any safety issues must be reported to (your name) or the crew manager. The venue must be a safe environment to perform and work in. Outdoor shows must have adequate weather protection for equipment and performers.
